Day 5

Well, the challenge didn't get further than Tuesday due to a number of unforseen events. However I have decided that I am going to start blogging just in general. Posting about my life and more to the point about my lovely and strange as it may be fashion sense. Still waiting on that camera but when it gets here be sure I will make up for lost time with getting pictures of every day fashion I see around and about the streets of manchester and the things that I wear on a day to day basis.

Today, I saw a girl wearing a gorgeous hooded cape cardigan. I will be attempting to hunt one down as soon as I get paid.

As for me, today I hadn't much choice in what to wear. I packed up yesterday as I went to stay with my other half, and brought the wrong trousers with me (eek!). The ones I brought were a pair of long flare's when what I had meant to grab was my fave pair of super skinny skinnies. Which meant that I had to wear the far too long flared jeans with my uggs, as you can imagine tucked in flare to uggs not a great look but I persevere. Along with the jeans dilemma, I also had to be concerned of the fact that I had no cardigan, or jumper for the day .... What was I going to do aside from panic?! Well I used my initiative, of course! I took the boyfriend shirt that I had brought for the day and rolled down the sleeves, then I cardi-knapped my boyfriends cardigan and put that over the top of the shirt leaving the bottom of the shirt sticking out over my jeans. Upon arriving to work I removed my jeans from my boots and went along with my day as planned. I have no make up on but a clean face so all is OK.

Day 4

Today is so far better than yesterday. I will be spending the night with my lovely other half and I will be able to do my nails as well! Which I am soo happy about because they desperately need doing, all my nails are chipped and broken. All I need to do is decide on a suitable colour for the next few weeks, think black is a good one to go with.

Well, the dress is still at home drying so I have been unable to wear it (yet again), and since I wont be home tonight I wont be able to wear it tomorrow either. Next week I will try this challenge again with a different item that I can actually wear with different things. Lord only knows what though.

Get to the point .... What about todays outfit I hear you cry?! Well today I was running late so I was unable to get myself ready properly. I have therefore wearing an outfit that doesn't really go together. A plain white vneck tshire with a black A line skirt covered in pink flowers. The outfit looks a lot better with a black button down cardigan but sadly I keep catching my chipped nails on the wool.

The Challenge - Day 3

Well, the challenge was going so well until I had to desperately wash my dress last night as some idiot not looking where he was going walked into me at the bus station and spilt his drink all over me soaking me to the skin! Unbelievable. I enjoyed a nice long bath last night with bubbles to calm myself down after the trauma with the drink.

Aah well, since my cats came to sit with me this morning I was kind of struggling for room to move and explore my whole wardrobe while I had a day off from the challenge. After deciding on the makeup of the day, 60's style with jet black liner and flawless skin, I chose to wear a tunic style dress. Its beige and covered in flowers, paired with jet black tights and flat over the knee boots.

The challenge will recommence tomorrow and last one extra day to compensate today and my inability to wear today.

I will say one thing though - Sheena of the original uniform challenge - I dont know how you did it, but I tip my hat to you! I've done 2 days so far and I'm finding it really hard to find things to wear with this dress!

The Challenge - Day 2

Well its day 2 and I hate that I have made myself do this, mainly because I like being able to choose what to wear every day. I know it must have been hard for Sheena who did this for a whole year, dear lord I dont know how she managed it! However, move on I shall.

Today I am wearing the dress as more of a skirt. I wear today - the dress, a black button down cardigan and black leggings. I think though, that the genius is what I have chosen to accessorise it with. A double row string of pearl style beads, and military boots (flat ones today) along with my favourite bomber jacket. I think I like most that the dress itself is a bit feminine, and adding the beads and the cardi would have left it looking a bit too girly for my taste. By adding on the bomber jacket and the boots it gives me the "punk/rock" edge that I love so much.

I'm looking forward to what I can try and come up with for tomorrow (and for my avon to get here!).

The Challenge ... Day 1

I recently read online about the Uniform challenge. About the lady who wore the same dress for a year, and came up with an idea for a challenge of my own.

I decided that this year, I would make more of an effort to wear what I own and not to spend so much on new clothes.

I am starting this week, with the challenge to wear one dress for 7 days in as many different ways as possible. I will post pictures of my outfits daily (as soon as I get a camera(just waiting on them coming back in stock from avon)).

The dress is short purple, floral body con style dress. Day 1 and I have combined it with a black pencil skirt over the top and a white shirt under neath it. I'm also wearing black tights and purple mary janes to tie it all off.

I'll keep posting my outfits for the rest of the week and see how it goes :D
